achieve symmetry and balance
Droopy eyelids result from conditions affecting the structure of the upper eyelid. It can cause an individual to appear tired and lead to functional issues such as obstruction of the visual field.
At Polaris, we offer non-surgical methods for mild to moderate cases, as well as surgical procedures for severe cases of ptosis.
Don't wait until it is too late
Below is a diagram outlining the various severity levels of ptosis. For a more accurate assessment, arrange a consultation with our board-certified plastic surgeon. An accurate diagnosis is the first step to getting the results you want.
Non-surgical methods are more effective for mild and moderate cases of ptosis. Ptosis correction surgery is required to correct severe ptosis due to muscular imbalance or excess saggy skin.
The polaris correction procedure
Ptosis correction surgery is performed under local anaesthesia in the cosy environment of our clinic by our board certified plastic surgeon Dr Ooi and assisted by his team of qualified nurses.
Depending on the severity of the ptosis, a small incision is made on the droopy upper eyelid skin where the plastic surgeon will either advance or resect the levator muscle to lift the upper eyelid.
The result is reconstructed and functional eyelids to make your eyes look brighter and younger. For severe ptosis cases, your field of vision will be improved and less effort is required to keep your eyes open.
*General anaesthesia available upon request. We recommend local anaesthesia for lower downtime.
You're in good hands
Ptosis correction surgery is usually done as a day surgery and patients are usually allowed to go home on the same day.
Patients may experience some minor bruising and swelling, which should subside within a few days and fully fade away after 1 to 2 weeks.
Depending on the severity of the ptosis before the surgery, recovery might take longer.
Nevertheless, most patients can return to their daily activities after a week or so, though it is advisable to avoid major events for at least 2 weeks post surgery.
Our doctors will advise accordingly during the initial assessment of your ptosis condition.
Conveniently located in three locations, we have a qualified team dedicated to give you personalised care.
On top of your safety and well-being, every step is taken with the end results in mind.
Our team will work with you to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
