SCARLESS, SCAR LESS
Due to hectic work schedules or life circumstances, it’s common for many of us to work late or lose sleep over stress. The result is puffy and heavy eye bags that accumulate under our eyes.
Of course, eye bags can form due to genetics and age, causing the skin to sag or accumulate excess fat.
Either way, eye bags can be removed through surgery, and at Polaris, we offer a scarless technique so patients won’t have to worry about prominent scars around the eyes.
For very severe cases of eye bags, our plastic surgeon may recommend other treatments or procedures to achieve results that are to your satisfaction.
To cut or not to cut?
The removal of eye bags used to only be achievable through incisions. In recent years, non-surgical eye bag treatments have emerged, however, these are more suitable for mild eye bags.
Even then, there is a possibility for other concerns that need to be addressed, such as pigmentation or bumpiness in the lower eyelids. For patients with severe eye bags, a surgery is recommended for better and long-lasting results.
Below is a table with some of the important differences between non-surgical eye bag treatments and Polaris' scarless eye bag surgery.
Non-surgical Eye Bag Treatments | Scarless Eye Bag Surgery |
Suitable for mild/early cases | Suitable for moderate and severe cases |
Do not address pigmentation or bumpiness under eyes | Corrects pigmentation or bumpiness under eyes |
Lasting results with good aftercare but risk recurrence | Longer-lasting results with good aftercare with lower risk of recurrence |
Shorter downtime as no cuts are made | Slightly longer downtime to heal from incisions |
The polaris Scarless technique
Scarless eyebag surgery is the removal of the fat or muscle causing the eyebags without leaving any visible scars.
This is performed via a small incision in the conjunctiva, which is on the inside of the lower eyelid skin.
This enables direct visualization of the lower eyelid structures, and results in a more accurate and permanent correction. It is also known as transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty.
*General anaesthesia available upon request. We recommend local anaesthesia for lower downtime.
You're in good hands
Post-procedure, there is usually mild swelling or bruising of the lower eyelids which settles in 1 to 2 weeks.
For the first few days, you may be given painkillers and anti-swelling medication to help with any residual pain and to hasten recovery, along with instructions for cold compress of the lower eyelids.
Full recovery can be seen after 2 weeks when the scar is completely hidden. No suture removal is needed.
Your doctor will provide a comprehensive post-surgery care plan and advice tailored to you.

The cost of a scarless eye bag procedure ranges from $2,500 to $5,000, depending on the techniques required. This is an all-inclusive price and includes basic medications, basic sedation and follow ups.
In most cases, the results after the scarless eye bag surgery will be permanent after the recovery period. However, age and other factors might cause the eye bags to recur. Dr Ooi will recommend a personalised care routine to help you maintain your results and stay eye bag-free.
Eye bag surgery should be performed by a fully qualified plastic or oculoplastic surgeon. Dr Ooi will perform a comprehensive assessment with you during the first visit so you’re clear on your options.
Most patients can expect some bruising or swelling that will settle in 1 tot 2 weeks, while the recommended downtime away from work and social activities is about 2 to 3 days. Dr Ooi can prescribe some painkillers to minimise your discomfort during the recovery period.
