High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU – UltraformerTM)

Hifu
A recent advancement in non-invasive facelifting has been the development of ultrasound-based therapies. This utilizes energy modulated-focused ultrasonic waves at precise depths to induce collagen formation in the fascia beneath the skin, which is the layer normally tightened in a surgical facelift. When performed by a skilled operator, the control of depth and power of HIFU allows for minimal downtime and redness on the skin. The results can last from 6 months to a year, and the procedure can be repeated.

Who would benefit from a HIFU facelift?

For patients who need a mild to moderate amount of tightening and prefer not to undergo a surgical procedure, HIFU could provide the best balance. At the same time, other minimally invasive procedures can be performed to enhance the results of HIFU.

At Polaris Plastic Surgery, together with our partners at Illumia Medical, we utilize HIFU therapy in the form of the Ultraformer III. At your consultation for facial rejuvenation, do ask about the range of options available and which would be suitable for you.
